Just a quick post to keep this blog alive and possibly reinvigorate it. Over the years there have been many attempts to market scotch and whiskey to an ever-growing number of people, thus ensuring the demand of the product. The latest endeavor however, is quite possibility going a bit too far: whiskey in a can. Considering that most whiskeys are decidedly
not on the cheap side, can easily cost well over $50 a bottle, and generally cater to an upscale and affluent audience (not so much as scotch, but generally well ahead of the beer crowd) this latest move could be interpreted as reaching out to a different audience, akin to the dumbing down of the product. Time will tell if this catches on, but for everyone's sake, here's hoping it doesn't.
